New Waverly ISD will be closed Tuesday, January 16. We have consulted with emergency services and county officials in making this decision. Icy roads are not expected to improve at this time. We hope to be back Wednesday providing travel improves.

We had reports of a gas smell today on two campuses. We had both checked out by the fire department and district personnel. There were no gas leaks found and buildings were given all clear. As always we will continue to monitor and thoroughly check out any possible problems.

Good morning. This is reminder that we have our annual Veteran's Day and First Responder's program today at 9:00am @ Bulldog stadium. If you attend, please sit on visitor side of stadium. We will be trying to use a new system to stream and will post that closer to 9 am.
We have been informed that New Waverly could be getting heavy traffic this afternoon due to the plant explosion in Shepherd and the rerouting of traffic from Highway 59. Our Constable and officers will be in various areas to help but we should expect possible heavy traffic.

New Waverly ISD is providing an opportunity for our parents/guardians to attend a presentation on the topic of vaping. Tri-County Behavioral Healthcare will be sending representatives to our district to provide parents/guardians with useful information as well as strategies and resources that can be used when dealing with vaping.

Update-all roads are open and while still heavy traffic we should be very close to normal procedures!
We have just been made aware that traffic in town today will experience heavy delays due to a downed pole. All campuses will be accepting students regardless of time. Be aware that there is no way to estimate time of delay but we will work with all families. Please be safe.
