Due to our weather and road conditions, tonight's FCA BANQUET is cancelled. We will update when we have more information.
Please share with others in our community about our school district closing today as we had to operate on a quick time frame. More severe weather is forecast this morning so please stay safe.
We have been notified by Walker County emergency services, our transportation department, and other resources that roads have become too hazardous this morning throughout the county. New waverly ISD will cancel classes today, Thursday, May 2. We apologize for the late notice.
NWISD plans on regular school times today. Please be cautious. If your area is dangerous-stay home and safe. There are areas north of us where the water has washed out roads so be wise. We will work with our families this morning if the rain causes some delays!
New Waverly High School will be holding a Health & Safety Summit on May 2, 2024 for students only. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Reminder to all NWISD families--All campuses will have classes on Fridays throughout April as per our calendar because of STAAR testing!

Intermediate families: Students in 2nd period PE reported feeling ill. Fire depart and EMS are checking out students. We are in the process of calling parents. Any parent who wants to pick up their child may do so. We will locate and correct the problem before the gym is used
NWISD plans on school as normal tomorrow. While most students will be able to access school and most, if not all, bus routes will run, some areas are experiencing dangerous flooding. As always please be wise when assessing your situation. We will update you of any changes here.

All New Waverly schools will be open at regular time tomorrow. It will be very cold so be sure to bundle up. Buses should run on regular time. See you in the morning!
