New Waverly ISD

NWISD is posting an update to social media and the live feed on our web page. We will be moving all high school learners to remote only for the week of September 14-18. All other campuses will remain open and functioning as normal. We expect HS to return Sept. 21.

We have a piece of good news to post! According to what we have been told, we will be able to offer all students free breakfast and lunch beginning Monday! This is expected to last until the end of December 2020.

Today's update is posted on social media and in the live feed of our web page. In this letter we address the specifics of how NWISD is working through our current situation of positive cases within the district.

We are providing at update on Covid related issues on social media and the live feed of our website. We continue to be in contact with health officials and as detailed in letter are examining additional steps to limit close contact. We are rescheduling this week's football game.

All network services have been restored. Face to Face and Remote classes should be able to access all programs at this time.

We are posting an additional letter concerning a 2nd positive case at the high school on social media and on our web page in the livefeed. The letter also updates the TEA definition of close contact. Per our investigation there seems to be no connection between the cases.

We are still having network service trouble this morning. Please be patient as we work to resolve these services. We will post once all services have been restored.

We are sending a letter regarding a positive case of Covid 19. We will have the letter posted on our website and will also distribute it via social media outlets.

We understand we are having issues this morning with our internet. We are aware that the phones, classlink, etc are not working at this time. We are working to resolve these issues. We will update when all issues have been resolved.

Football tickets for Friday night's game @ Lovelady are again available at Waverly Primary Care. All spectators must have a ticket in advance, as there will be no tickets to purchase at the event. Purchase ticket before they are all gone ($5 for adults and 3$ for student)!

Tonight is Senior Night for our Volleyball team! Due to restrictions we are limited on ticket sales, but let's all wish them a great game and another victory vs Lovelady tonight!

Calendar reminder that NWISD will have classes on Friday, September 4. We are closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

All tickets for tonight’s football game have been purchased! Volleyball also plays home today at 4:30. Please remember to bring your ticket for admittance to the games. Go Bulldogs!

Clarification: The proper location is Waverly Primary Care. Both football and volleyball tickets may be purchased there currently. We are exploring different locations for events as to help ease any burdens from our local businesses that are helping out!

As per UIL, we have limited tickets for Bulldog games this year. We allow our students and their families to get tickets first. Home football vs Centerville tickets are available at the New Waverly Clinic. Tickets can not be purchased at the event and must be purchased early.

Thank you students, parents, and faculty/staff for a great 1st day! We also appreciate your efforts in providing transportation and working through technology challenges. We plan on school tomorrow but will continue watching weather and providing updates as needed.

NWISD is monitoring weather situations due to the storms in the tropics. We are also in contact with Walker County officials. We are still on schedule to begin school tomorrow. We will provide information if anything changes so please check website and news outlets.
