Athletics

New Waverly has a rich tradition of success with all of our athletic programs. Our boys and girls teams regularly qualify for the playoffs. We will continually strive to demonstrate Bulldog Pride both on and off the field!

Band

In the Bulldog Band program, students learn to play band instruments and read music, improving on these skills throughout their junior high and high school careers. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of performance and contest opportunities for individual, small group, and full band. Through their experience in band, students gain communication and leadership skills and learn the values of commitment and improvement.

Beta Club

The Beta Club is an academic honor society that emphasizes service to the community.

The Beta Club motto: Let us lead by serving others.

We meet on Friday mornings before classes start, usually in the band hall.

It is student lead. Students elect officers that have been recommended by their pastor or youth pastor and can keep their grades up to passing as well as attend most of the meetings/ fundraisers/ activities/ programs.

Yearbook

Yearbook is a yearlong course designed to create, publish and distribute the school’s yearbook. Students in this course are required to already know basic elements of design, and Adobe Photoshop programs. The students learn techniques of selling ads, and then sell ads in the business community and to senior parents; create layouts and complete pages of the yearbook; and distribute the yearbook to the school population. Outside class time is often required for members of the yearbook staff, and all staff members must recognize they represent New Waverly High School, the Yearbook Staff, and the Yearbook Advisor.
