NWISD Technology

The New Waverly ISD Department of Technology provides the children and staff of the
district the technology resources and opportunities to utilize and develop essential
knowledge and skills to succeed and compete in society.

The department acquires and maintains district computers, printers, software, network infrastructure, telecommunications equipment, and other devices used in the educational environment.
Currently, the district maintains a mixed 100Mb/s and 1000Mb/s network infrastructure utilizing both
CAT5e and fiber optics wiring.

Current technologies include:
 

  • Microsoft Active Directory 2003
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
  • Linux based iptables Firewall
  • Linux based Asterisk VOIP
  • St. Bernard iPrism Internet Filter
  • DotNetNuke,SQL

Vendors the district uses include:

Microsoft, Adobe, Dell, HP, Cisco, Sophos, APC, Apple, as well as other useful products.
